Crock Pot Recipe

Cooking with a crock-pot is simple, easy and a great way to experiment with new cooking ideas. Crock-pots are so convenient because they do not require your constant supervision. They were designed to be able to cook unattended, you create your crock pot recipe in the morning before you go to work and when you return there is a delicious meal waiting for you.

Crock-pots do not have temperature controls apart from the high and low setting. The average roast will take 10 or 12 hours on low and 6 to 8 hours on high, so you can let the meal work to your schedule and not the other way around. It is always a good idea to check that the meat has been fully cooked in your crock-pot before you serve it. Buy a meat thermometer. Properly cooked poultry should be 180 degrees Fahrenheit and pork or beef should be between 160 and 170 degrees. If you have never cooked with a slow cooker before, here is a simple and delicious recipe to get you started.

This recipe is simple, always tasty and feeds a family of 6. If you want to make less, simply divide the listed ingredients by 6.
First of all, mix together 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, a pinch or pepper and half a teaspoon of dried thyme leaves. Coat a pound of boneless beef in the mixture. We recommend cutting the beef into six pieces to avoid argument later! Take the coated beef and cook it on a nonstick skillet for 3 minutes on each side or until it is browned, set it aside while you prepare the rest.

Cut 4 peeled potatoes into chunks, chop one onion and wash 16 ounces of baby carrots. Place all of these vegetables into your crock pot and add the meat on top. Next you will pour 14 ounces of ready to serve beef broth and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce over the meat and vegetables. Turn your crock-pot onto low and cook for 8-10 hours. That's all there is to it. A delicious meal for a family of six that only took a few minutes to prepare.
