When most people think of health food they envisage bland tofu, dull vegetables and dry seeds, but it doesn't need to be that way. Eating healthy tastes great once you know how to prepare the food. Here is just one of the many healthy recipes that will put the flavor back into eating well.

 Mahi Mahi and green salad

Fish is one of the tastiest, healthiest and most versatile meats around. It is high in Omega-3 fatty acids. These acids have many benefits to the body, including reducing the risk of heart complications. A great fish to cook is Mahi Mahi. Here is how to prepare it.

First of all you, you should cut two cloves of garlic and chop some sage. Warm a pan and drizzle in some olive oil. Once the olive oil is hot, add the garlic and sage. Let this brown for a moment and then add in the Mahi Mahi. We like to cut the fish into smaller pieces rather than having one large piece. For some reason it just tastes better that way.

Let the fish brown on one side and then flip it over so that the other side does the same. Once both sides are brown, add in a tiny bit of butter and squeeze a lemon over the fish as well. Next add a quarter cup of water and bring the heat right down on the pan. This is going to keep the fish moist and prevent it from drying out. A culinary secret we were delighted to learn.

While the fish is at a low heat, it is time to prepare a salad. The simplest salads are the best. Wash a handful of salad leaves over cold water and then add olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. Give it a good shake in a colander and there you have it! A delicious, simple and healthy salad.

Take the Mahi Mahi out of the pan and serve it with the salad. Some people prefer to serve it without the garlic and sage, while others like to enjoy these ingredients and use the water and butter combination as a sauce. This part is up to you; it is all down to personal taste.
